Introduction: The Social Media

In the modern world today, there are so many developments in the use of different technological advancements. Each and every development, there is always an advantage it brings. From the time of our ancestors, technology already existed, though, it was just improved from then on. There was no changes made, only IMPROVEMENTS.

One of these technological advancements is the internet, specifically the social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Friendster, etc. These social media or otherwise known as social networking reign in cyberspace in the present. Children, adults, especially teenagers are the patrons of these social media. Even government agencies, artists, and other public figures use these networking sites as mediums for different purposes.

This research paper wants to reveal the truth on how the social media are used by the different age brackets of people. Specifically here in the Philippines. Surveys, Interviews and bit of library work would prove and give justifications to be raised the paper.. As a social media user myself, I would want to be able to show in this research paper how others view it positively or negatively.

The role of social media may play a vital of deteriorating to the minds of those who use it. Nowadays, some teachers require the blog/ social media accounts of students as part of their requirements while others use it as a form of communication. This is just one way of using it, many other ways, many other forms of social media are to be shown along the paper.

In whatever way we use or utilize the social media, its should always be backed up by responsibility. We as social media users must use our resources well and never allow it to be a hindrance or a distraction to our plans and goals prior to using it.
